I've explored my girly money-spending side this afternoon. I bought two books, two cd's (actually 3, but the third one wasn't in the shop yet, so I payed for it and can collect it when it's in), Angel season 1 dvd box-set (yes, I'm that late with buying it) and a skirt. I really didn't need any of the stuff, except for my public transport pass, but my school pays me back for it. That's great, because they've augmented the price for public transport – again.

I went to the sales today and bought a wool jacket (orange! Well, rust-coloured), two pull-overs and a pair of shoes(des "escarpins"! How do you say "escarpins" in English? Whatever, they are very elegant, with two colours, chocolate and mole)...all of this stuff matching that trousers I bought last week.

So whose is the man?

This expression sounds definitely weird in this context! LOL

I was aiming for doing the sales one last time and buying a cardigan that goes with the trousres and top I bought two weeks ago. I couldn't find anything and ended up buying a skirt from the new collection in H&M. Not too expensive, though. It's still H&M.

You didn't answer my question, nor did you answer my poll!

*pout*

Poll is done. Now where's that question?

The question was about the shoes. How do you say "escarpins" ?

To that I haven't got an answer. My dictionary even translates escarpins as "dancing shoes".

Maybe is "slippers" the best word, like the glass slippers worn by Cinderella and the ruby red slippers from Dorothy in Oz.

I looked it up and found "court shoe" in Robert & Collins. It's quite monarchy-oriented!

I think a slipper is rather a "mule" letting the heel free.

I've been supporting the economy, too. Went to the shops on Friday, bought a brown skirt (http://www.esprit-online-shop.com/Shop/HtmlProduct/de/61942.html) (the picture doesn't do it justice and I paid the full price - *grrr*), a pair of jeans and a nice black top with embroidery as well as Buffy Season 7 which was on sale.

Paid full price for my skirt as well, but H&M is less pricey than Esprit of course...

The top I bought last week had embroidery. I'm so fond of it. Want to wear it all the time. (But I'm not allowed, because that'll mean it's worn out too fast!)
