Went shopping with my friend J. this afternoon. Bought a couple of tops and a pair of trousers that fitted perfectly. Back home I threw my purchases over a chair and one of the tops suddenly puzzled me. "Whose top is that?" I thought. It's lilac. I don't wear lilac. Still it suits me.

This makes me think of Spike's line about Willow's lilac underwears in "The Intiative".

So if he ever gets into your house, put the top on!

I will! But wasn't that a lilac fuzzy top he was talking about in The Initiative? You know when he can't "perform" and Willow tries to be all understanding and find the source of his "not performing" and then she says "It's me, isn't it?" And then Spike says, "Well no, you know last year when we met and you were wearing that lilac top. I could have taken you right there and then." I don't know the exact conversation, but it's hilarious because of the constant sexual undertone. They aren't talking sex, but the hint is so obvious...

I haven't watched it for a while, but I thought it was a top underwear she wore in Lovers Walk (and there was some sexual tension at the time too, and virgin Willow was scared but Spike was too drunk to perform anyway!)...Yeah that conversation is a classic!

It was the top she wore in Lovers Walk, yes, but I didn't realise it was underwear...

And I looked it up... Of course you are correct the actual quote goes as follows:

"Remember last year, you had on that... Fuzzy pink number with the lilac underneath?"
