Some news from the Writing Front.
Oct. 9th, 2005 07:30 pmIt feels like the East Front. You sign up and won't be able to come back unchanged – if you ever can come back. The constant pressure drives you to the edge of reason, but you consider it a good sign. It keeps you alert, on your toes. You see your mistakes before you make them. You try to dodge the bullets that plug holes into a well made train of thought, but nonetheless you stumble and fall.
I've been working for ages on a stupid little thing, a short text that should be okay for a magazine. Like it's a must I could never be satisfied and it took me the best part of the afternoon to write it. It should be publishable, although it won't be published. I don't feel accomplished, even if I might start writing some more of these little things that eventually will get published. No, I have returned from the Front and I realise my efforts were meaningless.
