New Bosses, New Rules

Big Boss has again followed his rule that a headteacher can only do a decent job when (s)he's an outsider coming in 'to put things right'. On Friday he swung by one of my schools to present us with our new Head. The substitute, who did a tremendous job getting a crippled team back on the rails, communicating with parents and who's generally loved by all, was neglected as a possible candidate. Her profile wasn't deemed satisfactory. Instead we get appointed someone with the looks of a puppet and probably his own agenda on what this school should become. It won't be the first time I see a good team having to defend their own view towards a headteacher who simply can't understand his/her opinion isn't highly regarded.
