May. 24th, 2011 09:30 pmI've got my singing exam coming up next Monday. Or to be more precise I had. I had it all figured out: I'd do a complete exam this year, and sing an incomplete program next year, so I would have to retake that year. It would make life bearable with two kids.
Now my teacher has fallen ill. She would accompany me on the piano, because the pianist had fallen ill earlier, and the substitute was unable to learn so many different pieces at such short notice. I can decide to take my exam in September instead, but frankly I don't know what my singing voice will be like then. After I had LB it took me a couple of months to adjust and get those belly muscles working again. Not to speak of the fact that I haven't got the opportunity to actually rehearse during Summer break.
I don't need to panic beforehand of course. On Thursday I'll meet the substitute and I'll hear what she has to say. I could always opt for an incomplete and redo this year, instead of redoing the next.
