Who killed Laura Palmer?
Jul. 4th, 2008 10:15 pmCanvas will be showing the first episode of Twin Peaks this evening at half past eleven. I was too young to watch it when it aired in the early nineties. On top of that my parents didn't have cable tv, so I couldn't watch it, even if I wanted to. Still the idea of Twin Peaks formed me as a teen, as did not watching Beverly Hills 90210 or Baywatch. I did catch up with the more soap-like series once my parents got themselves a satelite dish, but Twin Peaks has never become more than the tagline and the music score of the film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. Strange how such a big forming element of what the nineties ended up being, went completely over my head. Twin Peaks is the start of cable television, of story telling that doesn't end every episode, but isn't a soap either. I'll be on my couch, doing teenage catch-up.
