The quote hooks itself into my brain: "Let us write stories in the margins of the web." I don't even take the time to check where it comes from. It's one of those sentences that have a better life when you don't try to figure out what they mean, but nonetheless let them mean something. Like getting out your pencil and scratching words on dvds, making margins where previously none existed. Books have margins that we have been using for centuries to stress, comment or change what we read. Our new media lack margins, so we make them, invent them within other new media. Writing the web is scribbling in the margin, placing words, quotes, comments next to film, pictures, and other words.
