Coming back with Little One from a trip outside the school premises I cross one of my old professors when entering the building. And in a rush every dream I had when he taught me comes back into my mind, immediately followed by the realisation I'm doing now what I always said I'd never be doing: teaching. I can give numerous reasons for why I didn't succeed in following my dreams: I'm too shy, I'm not ambitious enough... There is no truer reason than that I have never chosen in life, but let life choose for me. There never was persuing of dreams. What doesn't mean there weren't any dreams. If wishes were horses, I'd be standing knee-deep in their excrements.

The Red Balloon
Nov. 8th, 2006 06:29 pmThere's a little story I always use when teaching the little ones, first graders that still have to learn to read and write: The Red Balloon. It's also a film, but I've never bothered looking for it, because it's an old film and old films are hard to come by. Not that hard, it seems. When reading Boing Boing today I suddenly tripped over it. And in the process I discovered a great blog and some nice music.
